Safety Seymour Workshop Teaches Important Lessons on Carbon Monoxide Safety
This week and next, our school are taking part in an informative and engaging workshop about carbon monoxide (CO) safety. A safety expert delivered an assembly and workshops to some of our year groups, helping children understand the dangers of carbon monoxide and how to stay safe at home.
During the sessions, pupils learned that carbon monoxide is often called the ‘hidden danger’ because it has no smell, taste, or colour, making it difficult to detect without a CO alarm. Through a range of interactive activities, they discovered where CO can come from, the symptoms of exposure, and the steps they can take to ensure their homes remain safe.
The workshops linked with different areas of the curriculum, including STEM, PSHE, and even history through connections with the Great Fire of London. With the help of engaging activities and discussions, pupils explored real-life scenarios and solutions, making the experience educational.
We are grateful for this valuable learning experience, which has helped raise awareness about carbon monoxide safety.
Remember—carbon monoxide safety starts with awareness, and our pupils are now equipped with important knowledge to help keep their homes safe.
Thank you Safety Seymour for raising awareness to our pupils.
