After-school Gardening and Eco Club

School’s Gardening and Eco Club Off to a Blooming Start
Last Thursday marked an exciting beginning for our after-school Gardening and Eco Club, as enthusiastic pupils came together to brainstorm ideas on how to improve our outdoor space. The session kicked off with a creative mind-mapping activity, where the children eagerly shared their thoughts on what would benefit our school.
The young eco-warriors suggested a variety of projects, with a strong focus on growing fruits and vegetables. Among their top picks were strawberries, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes. They also expressed a keen interest in planting lovely smelling herbs, adding water features, and even making a scarecrow to protect their crops.
The club started by preparing the area, turning over the soil and weeding to get it ready for planting. They also want to introduce wildflowers to support local wildlife and biodiversity. This exciting project hopes to create a beautiful sensory garden by transforming the area into a tranquil space filled with vibrant plants, soothing water features, and peaceful surroundings for everyone to enjoy.
The pupils demonstrated great enthusiasm and commitment, proving that even small hands can make a big impact! They can’t wait to get started and bring their ideas to life.
Stay tuned for more updates as our young gardeners continue their journey towards a greener, more eco-friendly school!
