HPL in Action Week Beginning 3rd March Newsletter

HPL in Action – Share Your Child’s Learning Journey
We are passionate about developing High Performance Learning (HPL) values in our pupils, both in school and beyond. We would love to see how your child demonstrates these skills and qualities at home, whether through clubs, hobbies, creative projects, problem-solving activities, or even everyday challenges.
This week’s HPL focus is Risk Taking—we want to see how our pupils challenge themselves, try new things, and embrace learning with confidence. Whether it’s learning a new sport, performing in front of an audience, or experimenting with a new idea, we’d love to celebrate their achievements.
We invite parents and carers to send in photos and examples of their children demonstrating these values. These could be from sports clubs, music or drama performances, science experiments, artwork, fundraising, or any activity where they show resilience, originality, confidence, or big-picture thinking.
Please send your details, along with a photo to Miss Coupe in school—we can’t wait to share and celebrate their fantastic efforts!
William - Year 1
During half term William very proudly received his medals for competing in the slalom ski race and completing his ski skills at his level, demonstrating the HPL of risk taking by embracing learning with confidence.
Eleanor - Year 3
Well done to Eleanor in Year 3 for demonstrating the HPL value of risk-taking, she also showed great bravery and resilience during her horse-riding lesson.
During her lesson, the pony she was riding scratched its face and got its tooth stuck. The pony panicked and spun around, but Eleanor showed quick thinking and excellent balance, managing to stay on. Unfortunately, the pony lost its footing and fell, causing Eleanor to take a tumble. Despite this, she quickly recovered, got straight back on another pony, and finished her lesson.
This was a fantastic display of determination and courage. Well done, Eleanor. You have shown exactly what it means to be a High Performance Learner.
