Year 2 Trip to Safety Central 2025
Year 2 Visit to Safety Central
Year 2 had an exciting and informative day out when they visited Safety Central in Lymm on Monday 19th May.
The children took part in a range of hands-on activities all about staying safe in different situations – including around fire, water, roads, and railways. They started the day with a quiz to see what they already knew, before exploring the different areas of the centre.
One of the highlights was spotting hazards in a realistic home setup, helping the children learn how to keep themselves safe in everyday situations. They also learned about railway safety on a pretend platform and discovered the importance of wearing a helmet while cycling. The children visited a mock Co-op store, where they learned about healthy eating and sorted different items into the correct food groups.
The volunteers at Safety Central also talked to the children about what to do in an emergency and how to call for help if needed. As they went through each zone, the children collected stickers to add to their badges – a fun way to track what they had explored.
The visit finished with a final quiz to check what they had remembered from the day. Everyone had a great time and came away with lots of useful safety tips to use at home and out and about.
Well done, Year 2!
