Year 5 PE Update – Speed Bounce & Sprinting Drills
Year 5 have been working incredibly hard in their recent PE lessons, continuing their focus on athletics this term. They have been building on their understanding of different athletic disciplines, developing their technique, fitness and confidence across a range of track activities.
This week, the children have been practising speed bounce, challenging themselves to improve their co-ordination, rhythm and stamina. They have shown great determination in trying to beat their personal bests and encouraging one another to keep going.
Alongside this, the class have been taking part in a range of sprinting drills. These activities have helped them to develop their acceleration, running technique and reaction times. The pupils have been learning the importance of posture and strong starts to maximise their performance.
It has been fantastic to see such enthusiasm, resilience and teamwork during these sessions.
