Year 6 Leavers Party and Disco - Class of 2026
Year 6 Fun Day and Disco - Class of 2026
It has been a week full of unforgettable memories as Burtonwood Community Primary School celebrated its Year 6 pupils before they begin the exciting next chapter of their journey at high school.
The celebrations began with the Year 6 production of I'm an 11-Year-Old... Get Me Out of Here!, where the children showed off their fantastic acting, singing and comedy. Their confidence and enthusiasm shone through, making it a brilliant performance and the perfect way to showcase their hard work.
The celebrations continued with the Year 6 Leavers' Assembly at St Michael's All Angels Church. Surrounded by their families, staff and younger pupils, the children reflected on their time at Burtonwood by sharing treasured memories and heartfelt letters to their four-year-old selves. The assembly also included special speeches from staff, the presentation of the Rotary Club Shield to Evie L, and an emotional farewell as the children performed one final song together.
With glorious sunshine throughout the week, the Year 6 Fun Day was the perfect opportunity for everyone to relax and celebrate together. The children enjoyed the huge tractor inflatable, water fights, outdoor games, music and dancing, making the most of the beautiful weather.
A delicious barbecue lunch completed the day, with burgers and hot dogs enjoyed together outdoors.
The celebrations concluded with the Leavers' Disco. The school hall was transformed for the occasion, with a DJ providing the soundtrack for the evening while the children had fun with their friends. There was plenty of food, a sweet treat or two, and lots of opportunities to capture special memories before saying their final goodbyes. The fun continued with a piñata, which proved to be a big hit with the children, and some pupils took to the microphone to showcase their singing talents during a karaoke session. The evening was filled with laughter, dancing and smiles, providing a fitting end to their time together at Burtonwood Primary School.
It has been a wonderful week of laughter, friendship and celebration, giving the Year 6 pupils the chance to reflect on everything they have achieved during their time at Burtonwood Community Primary School.
As they prepare to begin their next adventure, the whole school wishes them every success and happiness for the future.
Good luck, Year 6!
