Year 6 Art - Getty Museum Challenge

Year 6 have been getting creative with the exciting Getty Museum Challenge!

Inspired by people recreating famous works of art using everyday objects, the children explored a range of iconic paintings and discovered how they could bring them to life in their own unique ways.

After choosing their favourite artwork, the children carefully planned their recreations, discussing ideas with partners and using sketchbooks to make notes and sketches. They explored a variety of props and art materials, thinking creatively about how to recreate the original paintings, including the poses, costumes, backgrounds and lighting.

Working together, the children set up their compositions and took photographs of their finished creations. They then reviewed their photos with their peers, sharing constructive feedback and making adjustments where needed to achieve the best results.

Year 6 showed fantastic creativity, teamwork and attention to detail, thinking outside the box to transform everyday items into imaginative recreations of famous artworks. We were so impressed with their enthusiasm and the brilliant results they produced!
