Science was brought to life when Year One Burtonwood Community Primary School children had some furry and not so furry visitors to their classroom.
As part of their topic on animals, the children were able to get up close with mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians while learning more about how they belong to their animal group and what is special about them.
During the visit by Animals Take Over all pupils got the chance to hold a barn owl, a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko, a python, a tree frog, mice, an African pygmy hedgehog and a chinchilla!
Animals Take Over runs educational animal handling workshops with a special selection of animals that children can touch and hold, while learning facts about them. The school workshops are designed to link to the national.
