Our Key Stage 2 children didn’t let the weather deter them from taking part in a successful Sports Day at Burtonwood Community Primary School.

Despite the threat of rain, the enthusiastic pupils from Key Stage 2 put their athletic abilities to the test as they took part in range of sporting activities.

Throughout the event the children took part in tennis, javelin, gymnastics, standing long jump, netball, bean bag throw, shuttle runs, speed bounce, and the thrilling team skis.

The community turned out in full force to support the budding athletes helping to motivate this year’s participants.

The school's Parent-Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) played a crucial role in keeping spirits high by providing refreshments for everyone.

Acting Head Teacher Sarah Ignatius said: “The rain held off for the children to take part in a variety of events. We had a great turn out from the community to support us and thank you to the PTFA for providing refreshments.”
