Year 4 have been investigating electricity using special equipment to create their very own switches.

They rolled up their sleeves and put their creative minds to work by crafting the handmade switches, which allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of how electrical circuits function. Through trial and error, they've learned the crucial role of a switch in controlling the flow of electricity, making it a pivotal component of any electrical system.

The inquisitive minds of these budding scientists led them to put their circuits to the test. Armed with a newfound knowledge of switches and circuitry, they experimented to see if their circuits would work as intended. This hands-on experience has provided valuable insights into troubleshooting and problem-solving, skills that will serve them well as they continue to explore the world of science and technology.

Their exploration involved distinguishing between mains-powered and battery-powered devices. The students conducted experiments to determine the source of power for various everyday devices. This exercise not only deepened their understanding of electricity but also highlighted the importance of energy efficiency and sustainability.

Well done Year 4!
