Year 1 Trip to the Lowry
Year 1 Students Immerse Themselves in the Magical World of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler at the Lowry Exhibition
On Thursday the 7th of December, the vibrant energy of Year 1 students from Burtonwood Community Primary School filled the Lowry as they embarked on a whimsical journey through the "30 Years of Julia and Axel" exhibition. The day was not just an excursion; it was a celebration of creativity, storytelling, and the enchanting universe of beloved children's authors Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
The young learners revelled in the opportunity to write their own imaginative stories inspired by Julia and Axel's literary collaborations. The students eagerly brought to life the worlds of Gruffalos, Stick Men, and other iconic characters through their writing and drawings.
Visiting the different themed rooms and dressing up as beloved characters added an extra layer of excitement to the day, bringing the stories to life.
The day was not only a feast for the imagination but also a testament to the exemplary behaviour of the Year 1 students.
Well done Year 1!
