Year 1's Animal-Themed Showcase Assembly

In a delightful display of creativity and learning, Year 1 students at Burtonwood Community Primary School wowed parents, carers, and fellow students with their pre-half-term showcase assembly.

The excitement began when "Animals Take Over" visited the school, bringing a diverse array of creatures, including owls, chinchillas, snakes, and hedgehogs. Year 1 students had the unique opportunity to hold and learn about these animals, gaining insights into their habits and characteristics.

Building on this memorable day, Year 1 worked together to create an entertaining and educational assembly. The highlight was a lively performance of the song "Bramf," which focused on classifying and grouping animals based on their features. The students impressed the audience with their singing, showcasing the knowledge they had gained through their studies.

Year 1 students also made animal masks and pop-up books, displaying their artistic skills. These were a hit with parents and carers, who were invited into the Year 1 classroom after the assembly to explore the students' work that had taken place throughout the term.

Well done Year 1!
