Year 5 Visit to The Lowry
Year 5 students at Burtonwood Community Primary School recently enjoyed an educational and inspiring trip to The Lowry. The visit, which took place on the 1st of May, was a blend of art, geography, and social studies.
The highlight of the trip was a workshop conducted by a professional artist. During this session, the students engaged in creating projects that conveyed messages about pollution, drawing on their knowledge from their Geography and PSHE lessons. The workshop encouraged the children to explore various forms of pollution and express their understanding through creative displays.
Following the workshop, the students toured The Lowry's galleries, where they admired the extensive collection of artwork. Inspired by the exhibits, the pupils attempted to recreate some of the iconic pieces.
In addition to their time spent at The Lowry, the students walked over the Salford footbridge. This scenic route allowed them to spot significant landmarks such as Media City, Old Trafford Stadium, and the Imperial War Museum.
A fantastic time was had by all!
