The Book Bus Brings Fun and Learning to Burtonwood Community Primary School

Today was an exciting day at Burtonwood Community Primary School as the Book Bus made a special visit, bringing a wealth of books for students to explore.

Three children from each year group were selected to choose books that will be kept on loan in their classrooms. This allowed the students to have a direct say in the kinds of books that they and their classmates will be reading, promoting a sense of ownership and excitement about their new literary resources.

The initiative is aimed at fostering a love of reading among the children and was stocked with an impressive variety of genres, ensuring there was something to capture the interest of every child. From thrilling adventures and fascinating non-fiction to enchanting fairy tales and gripping mysteries, the selection was designed to cater to diverse tastes and reading levels.

The Book Bus is part of the Cheshire Education Library Service (ELS) and is dedicated to providing learning resources to schools, including independent schools, early years settings, and home educators who subscribe to the service. It is part of the school's ongoing efforts to promote literacy and encourage a passion for reading. By providing students with access to a broad range of books, the school hopes to enhance their learning experience and support their academic growth.

The event was a hit among the students, who eagerly explored the collection and selected their favourite titles.
