Year 4 Students Embark on an Educational Journey at Diva Roman Experience in Chester

On Tuesday 18th June, Year 4 students from Burtonwood Community Primary School had the opportunity to step back in time and immerse themselves in ancient history at the Diva Roman Experience in Chester. This educational trip allowed the young learners to explore the fascinating world of the Romans, offering a unique hands-on experience that brought their studies to life.

The students began their day by learning about the daily lives of Romans, gaining insights into the culture, traditions, and innovations that defined this significant era in history. Their educational adventure included a visit to the ruins of a real Roman amphitheatre.

One of the highlights of the day was when the students got to march through the streets as Roman soldiers. Wearing replica Roman armour, they learned about military formations and strategies used by Roman legions, an activity that not only educated but also entertained the students and staff.

Following this, the students engaged in re-enactments of Roman formations and battles, allowing them to experience the discipline and teamwork required by Roman soldiers.

Overall, the trip was a resounding success, combining fun and education in a way that captivated the students' imaginations and deepened their understanding of Roman history.

Well done Year 4!
