"Eyes Open" Drama Workshop

This morning Year 6 students participated in an enlightening PSHE performance and workshop titled "Eyes Open." Specifically tailored for 11-year-olds, this innovative program aims to educate young minds on crucial topics such as drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, and the transition to secondary school.

The program began with a 50-minute play, capturing the students' attention with relatable scenarios and engaging storytelling. Through the play, students were introduced to various challenges and situations they might encounter as they grow older. The narrative focused on the pressures of drug and alcohol use, the complexities of peer pressure, and the significant changes associated with moving to secondary school.

Following the performance, the students took part in an interactive workshop where they explored the choices made by the characters and the consequences of these choices.  Through discussions and activities, the workshop provided an opportunity for students to ask questions, express their thoughts, and gain a clearer understanding of these issues.

As Year 6 prepare for the transition to secondary school, programs like "Eyes Open" play a vital role in ensuring they are well-prepared for the journey ahead.
