Burtonwood Community Primary School Year 6 Students Engage in Friendly Football Match at St Paul of the Cross

Pupils in Year 6 from Burtonwood Community Primary School had an exciting outing last Friday as they visited St Paul of the Cross for a spirited game of football. The friendly match, inspired by the recent Euros, saw students from both schools enjoying a morning of camaraderie and competition.

To add an authentic touch to the game, a coin flip was used to decide which teams would represent Spain and England. Pupils from Burtonwood were Spain and pupils from St Paul of the Cross were England.  The pupils embraced their roles with enthusiasm, reflecting the excitement and passion of the international tournament.

The match consisted of two 20-minute halves, during which both sides showcased impressive skills and teamwork. Despite a valiant effort from the Burtonwood team, St Paul of the Cross emerged victorious with a final score of 8-3.

The event highlighted the talents of many young players and provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage in physical activity while fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship.

It was wonderful to see the children enjoying themselves and playing with such enthusiasm. Events like these are fantastic for building friendships and encouraging a love of sport.

Well done to all involved, a great morning was had by all!
