Year 3 Pupils Enjoy First Residential Trip to Delamere Forest

This week, Year 3 pupils from Burtonwood Community Primary School embarked on their very first overnight residential trip to Delamere Forest, marking a memorable milestone for the young adventurers.

The two-day trip began on Tuesday, when the excited students explored Delamere Forest's habitats, including a fascinating encounter with a beaver set. They waded through streams, jumped in muddy puddles, and enjoyed a forest walk. The children participated in den-building activities and gathered around a fire pit to toast marshmallows, adding to the outdoor fun.

The pupils slept in dorms, with the bunk beds proving to be a highlight of their overnight stay. On their second day, the children took part in an orienteering challenge, demonstrating the High Performance Learning (HPL) values the school promotes, such as confidence and working collaboratively to navigate the forest.

Throughout the trip, Year 3 exhibited excellent behaviour and engagement.  The trip was a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn new skills and create lasting memories.

Well done Year 3!
