Reception Children Showcase Baking Skills

Yesterday, Reception children embraced hands-on learning as they baked bread. The activity provided a combination of fun, skill-building, and teamwork, demonstrating the HPL (High-Performance Learning) value of being collaborative.

Working together in small groups, the children carefully measured ingredients, mixed the dough, and took turns kneading it.

The baking activity wasn’t just about making bread; it was an opportunity to develop fine motor skills and follow instructions. As the bread baked in the oven, the classroom was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked bread.

Once cooled, the children enjoyed their homemade bread, celebrating their teamwork and hard work. Activities like these highlight the importance of integrating practical tasks with key life skills, fostering a love for learning in young children while instilling core values such as collaboration and perseverance.

Well done Reception!
