Year 2 Pupils Shine in Science with Collaborative Plant Discovery

Year 2 pupils became Botanists for the day, putting their collaboration skills to the test in their Science lesson. The Year 2 pupils utilised the High Performance Learning (HPL) skill of critical thinking, working in pairs to tackle a plant identification challenge.

The activity required pupils to carefully observe and describe a variety of plants in detail. They then matched their findings to a set of descriptions and names, leaving one mystery plant that had not been included in the original list.

The children worked collaboratively, to share ideas and problem-solve. This activity not only developed their observational skills but also encouraged critical thinking and creativity to help them determine which was the new plant.

Well done Year 2!
