Year 1 delved into the importance of handwashing through an engaging and interactive activity. The session began with a discussion about why handwashing is essential for maintaining good health and preventing the spread of germs. The children then participated in a hands-on experiment using glitter to represent germs.

Each child applied a small amount of glitter to their hands and then shook hands with their classmates. They were amazed to see how quickly and easily the glitter spread from one person to another, demonstrating how germs can travel through touch. This visual representation helped reinforce the message that washing hands thoroughly with soap and water is crucial in keeping themselves and others safe from illness.
