The Biggest Ever Girls Football Session 2025
The Biggest Ever Football Session' a Great Success
On Friday, 7 March 2025, schools across the country took part in ‘The Biggest Ever Football Session’—a nationwide event held in recognition of International Women’s Day. Organised by The FA and the Girls’ Schools Partnership, and delivered by the coaches at Freedom Football, the initiative aimed to encourage more girls to participate in football and build confidence through sport.
At our school, the event was a huge success, with female pupils and staff joining in throughout the school day. We were fortunate to have three female coaches from Warrington Town come in during the morning sessions, where they led the activities and worked with the pupils. The sessions included practice drills, mini matches, and lots of fun, giving the girls an opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive and exciting environment.
In the afternoon, parents and siblings also had the chance to get involved, with the coaches from Freedom Football joining the sessions to support and guide the activities. This created a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone.
The sessions provided a great opportunity for pupils to develop new skills, work as a team, and enjoy being active. Many participants, including those who had never played football before, found the experience enjoyable and engaging.
Overall, ‘The Biggest Ever Football Session’ was a positive experience for all involved, reinforcing the benefits of sport in building confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment. With such encouraging feedback, there is hope that similar initiatives will continue to inspire more young girls to take part in football in the future.
The day was a great success!
