Year 5 Science - Day and Night
Year 5 Science
Year 5 pupils have been putting their scientific skills to the test in a lesson on space and the Earth’s movements. Using the High Performance Learning (HPL) values of imagination and big-picture thinking, they explored how day and night occur, as well as the changing seasons throughout the year.
To deepen their understanding, the pupils modelled how the Earth rotates on its axis, demonstrating how different parts of the planet experience daylight and darkness. They also simulated the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, showing how the tilt of the axis leads to the changing seasons.
This hands-on approach allowed pupils to visualise these complex scientific concepts in a fun and engaging way.
Well done to Year 5!
