Green Fingers at Work: Our Gardening Club Blooms

Our after-school gardening club has been working incredibly hard this term again—and their efforts are really starting to blossom.

With paintbrushes in hand, the children have been transforming old tyres into bright, colourful planters for a brand-new herb garden. These recycled planters will soon be filled with tasty herbs like mint, chives, and parsley.

The club has also been busy planting seeds for a wildflower garden. Their aim is to attract a wide variety of wildlife to our school grounds, including bees, butterflies, and birds. It’s been a fantastic way to learn about the importance of looking after nature and helping our local environment thrive.

The club members have shown brilliant teamwork, demonstrating our HPL value of Collaboration. They have taken great pride in their work and a growing knowledge of gardening. Their enthusiasm is inspiring, and we are all excited to see the results as the garden continues to flourish throughout the summer term.

Well done to everyone involved—you are truly helping to make our school greener, brighter, and full of life!
