Sun, Smiles and Sportsmanship at Burtonwood Community Primary School

On Thursday 22nd May, Burtonwood Community Primary School held its annual Sports Day.

Although the weather was a little cloudy with some sunny spells, that didn’t dampen the children’s spirits. Everyone was excited and ready to take part in a full day of sporting fun and friendly competition.

The day was split into two sessions, with Key Stage 2 taking part in the morning. Pupils competed in a variety of classic sports day events including sprint races, sack races, the standing long jump and an obstacle course. The children gave it their all, showing great determination, team spirit and plenty of smiles along the way.

In the afternoon, Key Stage 1 children had their turn. It was a great to see how enthusiastic and proud the children were as they took part and supported their friends.

Families were invited to come along and cheer from the side-lines, and their support really helped create a positive and encouraging atmosphere throughout the day.

It was a brilliant celebration of effort, resilience, and fun. Well done to all the children for taking part so enthusiastically and making the day such a success – and thank you to staff and volunteers for helping everything run so smoothly.
