Year 6 Bring Science to Life with Playdough Models

Year 6 pupils have been busy in science, exploring the fascinating world of invertebrates through a fun and hands-on activity. As part of their learning about animal classification, the children used playdough to create detailed models that highlighted the unique characteristics of worms, spiders, snails and bees.

Working in small groups, pupils demonstrated excellent collaboration as they discussed the distinctive features of each creature and planned how to bring their ideas to life. They carefully shaped their playdough models, paying close attention to key details such as body segments, legs, shells, and wings. This practical task helped deepen their understanding of invertebrate anatomy in an engaging way.

Throughout the activity, pupils showed creativity and perseverance, experimenting with different techniques to achieve the best results.

This activity was not only a fun way to explore science but also a great demonstration of HPL values, including collaboration, creativity, and self-improvement.

Well done Year 6!
