Burtonwood Sewing Group Get Creative with Year 6

Burtonwood Sewing Group have once again generously dedicated their time and expertise to support our Year 6 pupils in an exciting hands-on design and technology project. 

Working closely with the children, the volunteers supported pupils as they designed and made their own fabric bags. Year 6 pupils were given a fabric patch, which they sketched on, decorated, and then stitched. With help from the Burtonwood Sewing Group, the children used both hand-sewing techniques and sewing machines to attach their personalised patch onto their bag, making each one unique.

The classroom was a busy, creative space as pupils worked carefully on their designs and learned new skills along the way. This practical activity gave the children a valuable opportunity to develop their sewing skills while enjoying a hands-on project.

We would like to say a big thank-you to Burtonwood Sewing Group for giving up their time once again to work with our Year 6 pupils. Their support, patience, and guidance made this a really enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
