Year 6 Guitar Assembly - February 2026
Year 6 Guitar Assembly
Yesterday, our talented Year 6 pupils took to the stage for their guitar assembly, performing in front of parents, carers and the rest of Key Stage 2. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase the skills they have been developing throughout their lessons.
Over the past term, the children have worked hard to learn a range of well‑known songs, and their performance reflected just how much progress they have made. As a group, they played a fantastic selection of pieces, including music from Bluey, Wonderwall, Smashmouth’s All Star, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Their confidence and teamwork shone throughout the performance.
The assembly also featured impressive solos from some pupils, who bravely stepped forward to perform pieces such as Harry Potter, Happy Birthday, Crazy Frog and Rotterdam. These solo moments showed how independent and skilled some of the children have become.
The children have been taught by Laurie, who has been visiting our school for many years to deliver guitar lessons and inspire pupils with his enthusiasm for music. His dedication and support have helped countless children grow in confidence and skill, and we are very grateful for all he continues to do.
A huge well done to Year 6 for a fantastic assembly and for sharing their musical talents with us and a huge thank you to Laurie for always making the lessons fun!
