Year 5 Welcome a Special Visit from Cheshire Fire Service

Before half-term Year 5 enjoyed an exciting and informative visit when Cheshire Fire Service stopped by with their fire engine. The children were excited to meet the firefighters and learn more about the work they do every day to keep people safe.

During the session, the crew came into class to talk to the pupils about the different types of emergencies they attend and how teamwork is essential in their job. The children were fascinated to hear real-life examples and ask questions about life as a firefighter.

One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to take a closer look at the fire engine itself. Pupils explored the equipment stored on board and discovered what each piece is used for in an emergency. They also had the chance to try on some of the firefighters’ protective clothing and they experienced just how heavy the gear can be.

Although the ground was too wet for hose demonstrations this time, the children still had a wonderful experience and gained a much deeper understanding of fire safety and the dedication of the fire service.

A huge thank you to Cheshire Fire Service for giving our pupils such an engaging and educational visit.
