Reception Release Their Butterflies

Today was a very exciting day in Reception as the children released their butterflies after carefully watching them grow and change over time. Over the past few weeks, the children have been observing the fascinating life cycle of a butterfly, beginning with tiny caterpillars and watching them transform through each stage of their journey.

The children enjoyed observing the changes each day and learning about the different stages of the butterfly life cycle. They enjoyed sharing their observations as the caterpillars grew, formed chrysalises and finally emerged as beautiful butterflies.

Everyone was thrilled to see the butterflies take flight as they were released in the outdoor area. The moment was made even more special as parents and families were able to share the experience following the Reception showcase assembly. It felt like the perfect opportunity to release the butterflies together, allowing the children to celebrate and share this exciting part of their learning journey with their loved ones.
