Year 5 Mixed Media Self-Portraits

Year 5 have been showcasing their creativity in Art by creating impressive mixed media self-portraits using photographs and a range of different materials.

The children studied photographs of themselves, carefully observing their facial features, expressions and proportions. They then used a variety of artistic techniques and materials to create unique self-portraits, experimenting with texture, colour and pattern to add interest and detail to their work.

Throughout the project, the children explored how different materials can be combined to create a mixed media effect. They thoughtfully selected resources to represent features such as hair, skin tones and clothing, resulting in a collection of highly individual pieces of artwork.

This project encouraged the children to develop their observational drawing skills, creativity and confidence while learning how artists use a range of media to achieve different effects.

Well done, Year 5, for producing such creative and eye-catching artwork.
