Year 5 PE: Netball and Cognitive Co-ordination
Year 5 PE: Netball and Cognitive Co-ordination
Year 5 have been developing their physical skills, co-ordination and teamwork through a combination of netball and cognitive PE activities.
During their netball lesson, the children focused on developing some of the key skills needed to play the game effectively. They practised accurate chest passes, moving into space and pivoting while in possession of the ball. The children worked hard to improve their passing technique and began to think about how movement, communication and quick decision-making can help them maintain possession.
The following week, the children took part in a cognitive PE session, where the focus was on co-ordination, concentration and reaction skills. They completed a range of activities designed to challenge both their minds and bodies, requiring them to listen carefully, think quickly and control their movements.
It was great to see the children applying the skills they had developed in netball to their cognitive activities, while showing great determination.
Well done, Year 5!
