Year 5 Science - Separating Mixtures

Year 5 have been busy in Science learning about mixtures and different methods of separation. As part of their learning, they investigated how sieving can be used to separate materials of different sizes.

The children worked together to carefully sieve their mixtures, observing what happened as the materials passed through the sieve. They enjoyed getting hands-on with the investigation and developing their practical science skills, while thinking about why sieving is an effective method for separating certain mixtures.

It was great to see the children working collaboratively, making observations and putting their scientific knowledge into practice.
