Year 1 Art - Self-Portraits

In Art , Year 1 have been exploring how to draw self-portraits using line and shape. They have been looking carefully at their own facial features and thinking about how different lines and shapes can be used to represent their eyes, nose, mouth and hair.

The children have been developing their drawing skills, paying attention to detail and learning how simple shapes and lines can be combined to create a picture of themselves. This activity has encouraged them to observe carefully, express their creativity and develop confidence in their artistic abilities.
