Celebrating Black History Month at Our School

Burtonwood Community Primary School came together for a special assembly to celebrate Black History Month and recognise the incredible contributions, achievements and legacies of Black people throughout history.

Over the past week, our School Council members have been researching famous Black individuals who have made a significant impact on the world. Each year group created fantastic posters, sharing interesting facts and information about a range of inspirational people, highlighting their achievements and why they are remembered today.

The assembly provided a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to share their learning with their peers, celebrate diversity and reflect on the importance of equality, respect and inclusion.

Well done to all of the children for the time, effort and enthusiasm they put into their research and presentations. Their work helped us all learn something new and reminded us of the importance of recognising and celebrating Black history, not just during October, but throughout the year.

Well done to our School Council and all the children involved for helping make this such a meaningful celebration.
