Year 5 Science Lesson on Conductivity

In an exciting Year 5 Science lesson, pupils explored the fascinating world of conductivity.

Using a candle flame, they observed first-hand how heat travels through metal, demonstrating the role of metal as an effective conductor. As the heat made its way up the metal rod, it gradually melted the Vaseline holding a line of paper clips.

The pupils watched as one by one the paper clips dropped, visually illustrating the journey of heat through the conductor. This hands-on experiment brought the concept of conductivity to life, making for an engaging lesson in thermal energy.
