Year 4 Smart Heart Visit
Year 4 Pupils Learn About Heart Health with Dr Farag from Smart Heart
Year 4 pupils enjoyed a fascinating and interactive visit from Dr Farag of Smart Heart today, learning all about the importance of keeping their hearts healthy. The engaging session gave pupils a deeper understanding of how their hearts work and the steps they can take to maintain good cardiovascular health.
During the visit, pupils had the exciting opportunity to listen to their own heartbeats through a stethoscope and learn how to take their pulse. They also discovered how exercise affects their heart rate by dancing and monitoring the changes in their pulse. This hands-on approach helped them see how physical activity strengthens the heart.
Dr Farag also discussed the dangers of smoking and vaping, highlighting the impact these habits can have on heart health. Pupils were amazed to learn that the human heart beats around 2.5 billion times in an average lifetime, making it one of the hardest-working organs in the body.
The session provided valuable knowledge that will help pupils make healthy lifestyle choices as they grow.
A huge thank you to Dr Farag and Smart Heart for delivering such an informative and engaging experience!
