Read Around School – Celebrating World Book Day

As part of our World Book Day celebrations last week, pupils took part in our exciting Read Around School challenge. This much-loved activity encourages children to explore different reading spaces around school while enjoying books in a fun and engaging way.

Each time a child reads in a new area, they receive an initial on their reading card. Additional challenges, such as reading with an adult or another pupil, added to the fun. Those who fill their cards will be entered into the "Where Can You Read?" raffle, where two lucky winners from each class will receive a book prize.

Although it started as part of World Book Week, the challenge is continuing this week, with children choosing new spots to read each day. This activity not only promotes a love of reading but also encourages independent learning, social interaction, and shared experiences with books.

We've loved seeing all the places our pupils have discovered to enjoy a good book!
