Year 6 Art - Memory Museum Boxes
Year 6 Art - Memory Museum Boxes
This term in Art, Year 6 pupils have been exploring the idea of memory and storytelling through sculpture. Inspired by artists such as Joseph Cornell and Louise Nevelson, the children have begun designing and creating their own ‘Memory Museum’ boxes—miniature exhibitions that capture their most meaningful moments from primary school.
Using sketchbooks to plan and experiment, pupils have considered how colour, shape, and materials can evoke feelings and represent special memories. Some are creating abstract sculptures with layered textures and painted objects, while others are building tiny scenes or using found items to tell their story.
With wire, natural materials, cardboard, and imagination, Year 6 are turning their time at school into beautiful, personal artworks.
