Year 1 DT

This week in DT, Year 1 have been using their HPL skills of enquiry and flexible thinking to explore wide and narrow bases by building towers. The children investigated why some structures are more stable than others and discovered that the size of the base plays an important role in keeping a tower standing.

After their investigation, the class made a plan and worked with their friends to build free-standing, stable structures. They demonstrated fantastic collaboration and teamwork, helping each other problem-solve and make improvements as they went along.

The children really enjoyed putting their ideas into practice and were proud of their towers, showing how thinking carefully and working together can create strong, stable structures.

Well done Year 1!
