Year 1 Geography

In our ‘Weather’ Geography topic, Year 1 took their learning outside to explore seasonal change. The children were challenged to find and describe signs of the current season. During the lesson, we discovered many signs of Autumn, including colder, breezy weather, leaves changing colour from green to orange, red, and yellow, and crunchy leaves that had fallen from the trees.

While exploring Willow Wood, the children also reflected on how much they enjoy being outdoors and how spending time outside with friends can help their brains feel happy and healthy. The lesson combined observation, discussion, and outdoor learning, making it a fun and engaging way to connect with nature and the changing seasons.

Well done Year 1!
