Year 1 Explore Their Personal History

This week in History, Year 1 have been learning all about their own personal history. The children explored the ideas of past, present and future and talked about how much they have grown and changed over time.

Using a timeline, the children carefully sequenced photos of themselves from different stages of their lives. They added labels to mark important moments such as the year they were born, their first day at school and their first day in Year 1. This helped them understand how events can be ordered and how timelines help us to see changes over time.

A highlight of the lesson was looking at baby photos. The children had lots of fun spotting similarities and differences and seeing just how much they have grown.

Year 1 enjoyed discovering their own history and learning more about the journey they have taken so far.
