Eco Club Gardening Update February 2026

Eco Club Gardening Update
We are excited to share some lovely photos from last night’s Eco Gardening Club session, capturing the children’s fantastic gardening work.
The children began by replanting the hanging baskets, choosing a mix of long, elegant grasses and hardy perennials to bring colour and texture to the area. They learned why these plants are great choices for outdoor spaces and enjoyed arranging them carefully in the soil.
Next, the group sowed sweet pea seeds into toilet roll tubes. This simple but clever method means the whole tube can be planted straight into the ground, helping reduce plastic use and supporting our ongoing efforts to be more eco-friendly. The children were proud to discover how small changes can make a big difference.
They then spent some time tidying the mint planter, trimming it back and refreshing the soil. As a treat, each child was able to take home their own small mint plant to look after and grow at home. They were very excited to share their new plant with their families.
Thank you to everyone who supported the session. We’re looking forward to seeing how everything grows over the next few weeks.
