Year 4 Science - Investigating Toothbrush Effectiveness

Year 4 have been putting their scientific investigation skills to the test by exploring which type of toothbrush is most effective at cleaning teeth.

After planning their investigation and making predictions, the children carried out an experiment to compare soft, medium and hard toothbrushes. Working collaboratively, they took on different roles within their groups, including brushers, timers and observers, to help ensure the investigation was carried out fairly.

The children repeated their tests with each type of toothbrush to help make their results more reliable. They then recorded their findings in a table so they could compare the results and see which toothbrush was the most effective.

Well done, Year 4, for working so well as a team and developing your skills in planning investigations, carrying out fair tests and recording scientific results.
